Oklahoma Employment Discrimination Claims

Are you being treated differently by your employer because of your age, race, gender , disability status, or sexual orientation? If so, you may be the victim of employment discrimination, which is prohibited by federal, state and city laws. Employment discrimination occurs when employers, or their agents, treat employees differently because they happen to be members of one of these "protected" groups.

Furthermore, employers who know coworkers are harassing or discriminating against you, or treating you differently, because you are a member of a protected group, must take action to prevent the improper behavior from occurring or continuing. Additionally, employers are prohibited from retaliating against an employee who reports or who complains about such discrimination, filing a lawsuit due to discrimination, or participating in an investigation of such discrimination.

It is important to be aware that discrimination claims are not normally based upon conduct that is occurring out in the open. There is not usually a smoking gun. Usually, it is covered up and camouflaged by a pretext. If you believe that you are being picked on unfairly or treated differently from others on account of your gender, race, national origin, your age, religion, or because of your disability or perceived disability, or your sexual orientation, or because you are pregnant, do not ignore or disregard your concerns, even though the employer will have a different version of those events, such as arguing about your performance, when it is not really the true issue. Discuss your suspicions with an attorney who will be able to address your concerns.

The reality is that people do engage in this type of discrimination and it is in fact illegal, not simply mean.   If you don't stand up against it, you are allowing the behavior to persist.  Simply making comments or off-hand remarks is not truly standing up against the problem.  If you are serious about taking action call our offices and speak with an attorney who specializes in handling these types of legal cases.

You can hire John Mac as your lawyer regardless of whether you live in the greater Oklahoma city region. Most Oklahoma state cities are served by the attorney: Tulsa, Bartlesville, Broken Arrow, Norman, Lawton, Midwest City, Shawnee, Stillwater, Edmond, Moore, Muskogee, Enid, and Ponca City.
